Youth Ministry

Welcome to Alvaton Youth Group (A.Y.G)!

Throughout the year we have all kinds of Bible studies and activities for teens. On Wednesday nights, we meet for worship as well as Bible class with our peer groups. This study time is a more casual setting where discussion is encouraged. Our High School class is designated for teenagers in 9th grade up to 12th grade. There is also a separate class for Middle School students.

Sunday mornings at 10:15am we meet for a 45 minute Bible study. Most Sunday nights during evening services, High School students are encouraged to meet with their mentor groups for a casual Bible study and prayer time.

Another weekly Bible study we have is called Thursday Nights Together (TNT). The youth group (7th thru 12th grade) meets together and studies the Bible or a designated book or video series. TNT is at 6:30pm every Thursday night at Clark & Heather Fraser's home in Bowling Green.

Some of the big events we have every year are Service Road Trip, Summer Camp, Vacation Bible School, Fall Retreat, Challenge Youth Conference, Lads to Leaders convention, and several more.

In the Spring, we take a trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the Lads to Leaders convention. Several of our teens participate in Lads to Leaders competitions - speech, debate, art, website design, puppets, etc. Every year the convention takes place on Easter weekend where participants can go, compete and win awards for their effort.

During Spring Break, we take a group of teens on a Service Road Trip. Every year the destination is different. In the past we have gone to Atlanta, Georgia, Huntsville, Alabama, Chicago, Illinois, Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and New York City, New York. During this unique week long mission trip, students participate in a variety of service opportunities as well as fellowship with members of the Lord's Church.

June is always a busy month because we have one of our biggest events, Summer Camp. For one week, grades 4th-12th will gather at Big Reedy Christian Camp for a Bible centered camp. Some of the activities included at Summer Camp are Bible classes, Bible memorization, water games, slip n' slide, team sports, shaving cream fight, and much more. Registration for camp usually beings in May.

Other annual Summer activities are Vacation Bible School, a trip to Holiday World, Back to School Lock-in and others.

In the Fall, upperclassmen have opportunity to go on our annual Leadership Retreat. In November, 7th thru 12th graders may attend Fall Retreat. The week before Thanksgiving, the Youth Group host a Thanksgiving dinner for T.N.T.

In the Winter we have our Christmas party, New Year's Lock-in, and Challenge Youth Conference in Gatlinburg.

Throughout the year we offer many other Bible studies and activities not mentioned here.

Everybody loves a good game of Sardines!
